Job summary

Mericle Construction, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Design Intern to assist the Electrical Design team with electrical construction documents and supporting materials for planning, permitting, and construction.

The internship offers hands-on experience in electrical design, drafting, and coordination within a fast-paced construction environment and exposure to AutoCAD and Revit workflows.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's in EE, EET, drafting, or related field.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and drawings.
• Strong math, problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing electrical drawings and designs for the layout of electrical systems.
• Support the creation of layouts, drawings, and designs using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Help update, revise, and maintain electrical drawings and project documentation.
• Learn and apply drafting and design standards to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist with preparing electrical and project documents, including lighting layouts and photometric studies.
• Assist with calculating electrical and lighting loads and preparing schedules under supervision.
• Support the development and maintenance of electrical base building documentation.
• Coordinate with team members from various construction disciplines to help identify and resolve drawing conflicts.
• Assist with incorporating field markups and "red-line" changes into as-built drawings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Electrical Design Intern (Internship)

Mericle Construction, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Design Intern that will assist the Electrical Design team with the development, production, and maintenance of electrical construction documents and supporting materials required for project planning, permitting, and construction. This internship provides hands‑on experience in electrical design, drafting, and coordination within a fast‑paced construction environment.

Mericle Construction, Inc. is the largest, full-service developer of industrial, office, flex, and medical space along Pennsylvania’s I-81 Corridor. Mericle has developed more than 100 buildings in the Scranton/Pittston/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton area.
