Mericle Construction, Inc. invites applications for an Electrical Design Intern to support the Electrical Design team in developing, coordinating, and maintaining electrical construction documents for planning, permitting, and construction in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers hands-on drafting experience using AutoCAD and Revit, exposure to lighting layouts and load calculations, and collaboration with engineers, designers, and field staff as part of a growing Northeast PA developer.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction drawings.
• Strong math, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and gain hands‑on field and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing electrical drawings and designs for the layout of electrical systems.
• Support the creation of layouts, drawings, and designs using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Help update, revise, and maintain electrical drawings and project documentation.
• Learn and apply drafting and design standards to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist with preparing electrical and project documents, including lighting layouts and photometric studies.
• Assist with calculating electrical and lighting loads and preparing schedules under supervision.
• Support the development and maintenance of electrical base building documentation.
• Coordinate with team members from various construction disciplines to help identify and resolve drawing conflicts.
• Assist with incorporating field markups and 'red-line' changes into as-built drawings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
