Caterpillar Inc. in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design, develop and build low and medium voltage switchgear for generator paralleling applications. The role is on-site, five days a week, with up to 10% travel.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with PLCs from Schneider and Allen-Bradley, and familiarity with UL/DOT/NEC standards. Relocation assistance is available; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience with MV/LV switchgear.
• Experience interpreting customer specs, NEC/UL requirements.
• Ability to create BOMs and support CAD/Drafting.

Responsabilités

• Interpret specifications and apply industry codes (NEC/UL/ANSI).
• Create bill of materials in ERP system and support purchasing.
• Direct CAD designers for wiring and assembly drawings.
• Support production during equipment manufacturing.
• Write and validate PLC code for generator control systems.
