RTX is offering an Electrical Engineering Internship on the Engine Control Systems Electrical Design Team at Windsor Locks, CT. You will work with a team of engineers to design, analyze, and test electronic engine controls used on aircraft engines worldwide.

The program provides hands-on experience in hardware development, simulations, and problem solving, with opportunities to learn project planning and cross-disciplinary collaboration in aerospace engineering.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
  • Experience with analog and/or digital circuit design.
  • Experience using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, and Power Apps.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of electronic engine controls for aircraft engines.
  • Conduct analysis and simulations of electrical circuits within electronic engine controls.
  • Perform hands on design verification testing and qualification testing of electronic engine controls.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production and field issues.
  • Collaborate with other technical disciplines to solve challenging multi-disciplinary problems.

This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the aerospace industry. You will work alongside early career, mid career, and senior engineers on the design, analysis, and testing of Electronic Engine Controls. What You Will Do
  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of electronic engine controls for aircraft engines.
  • Conduct analysis and simulations of electrical circuits within electronic engine controls.

  • Electronic Hardware Development process of electronic engine controls, from initial conceptual design through verification and integration testing.
  • Develop skills in identifying and resolving issues in fielded electronic engine controls.
  • Understand how electronic engine controls integrate with other hardware and software on aircraft engines and airframes.
  • Gain insights into project planning, team collaboration, and effective communication within an engineering team.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
  • Experience with analog and/or digital circuit design.
  • Experience using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, and Power Apps.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
