BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a dynamic Engineering Intern, Electrical Design for our Summer Internship Program in Kokomo, Indiana. You will assist with ECU design and development for automotive applications, including ECUs that control engines, transmissions, drivetrains, battery monitors, and electric motors.

Responsibilities include circuit analysis, testing, data collection, and supporting the validation lab with test setups.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Some experience with basic lab equipment like digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Experience with MS Office.
• Some experience with CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics or OrCAD.
• Some experience with analysis tools such as Mathcad and/or Spice.
• Desire to work in a lab environment.

Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Engineering Intern, Electrical Design in our Summer Internship Program. The Engineering Intern, Electrical Design will assist with the design and development of electronic control units (ECU) for the automotive market. These ECUs control combustion engines, transmissions, drivetrains, battery monitors, and electric motors for commercial and passenger vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing electronic circuits to verify they comply with the controller’s requirements
• Testing the controller to verify its parameters comply with the analysis
• Collecting and analyzing data
• Supporting the validation lab with test set‑ups

What We Are Looking For

• Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 of 4.0 scale or B average, upon initial hire date
• Some experience working with basic lab equipment; digital multi‑meters, oscilloscopes, etc
• Experience with MS Office
• Some experience with CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics or OrCAD
• Some experience with analysis tools such as Mathcad and/or Spice
• Desire to work in a lab environment

Salary Range

Salary Range $17.00 - $28.65 / hour
