Job summary

Astec in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a world-class hardware and controls software team. You'll translate product requirements into electrical hardware and software, design schematics, PCB layouts, wiring harnesses, and perform design reviews to ensure reliability and cost effectiveness.

You will collaborate with sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service, travel for testing as needed, and contribute to documentation, testing plans, and product improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (4-year) degree in Electrical /Electronic/Computer Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional electrical design reviews, including Design for Manufacturability and Design for Reliability.
• Develop electrical hardware test plans for new designs and changes to existing designs and coordinate testing and validation.
• Develop PCB layout designs for panels and 3D Junction Box designs with plug‑and‑play functionality.
• Create 3D routed wiring harnesses and ensure plug‑and‑play assembly.
• Provide engineering calculations and follow safety procedures.
