Job summary

IPS-Integrated Project Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer II for our Emeryville, California office. You will assist in planning, designing, and directing electrical engineering projects within the Design Department, applying your education and experience to solve engineering problems.

The role requires 5+ years in building design, expertise in AutoCAD/Revit, and knowledge of electrical systems and codes. Travel up to 5-20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year College or University.
• 5+ years of engineering/design experience in the building design industry.
• Expertise in AutoCAD/Revit for design and drafting.
• General knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares design computations and quantity estimates for electrical projects.
• Uses CAD tools to prepare engineering and design documents (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Makes calculations for design such as lighting and power distribution.
• Creates electrical drawings and equipment schedules.
• Provides drawings and sketches for drafter integration.
• Researches design options and documents findings for the Project Designer/Engineer.
• Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and scope changes.
• Ensures drawings comply with company standards.
