Job summary

IPS is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Emeryville, California office. You will plan, design, and direct electrical engineering projects within the Design Department, applying education, creativity, and technical expertise to resolve complex problems on assigned teams.

Responsibilities include design computations and cost estimates for smaller projects, using AutoCAD and Revit, performing lighting and power calculations, creating electrical riser drawings, preparing equipment

Qualifications

5+ years of engineering/design experience in building design (lighting, fire alarm, branch circuitry).
Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
Expertise in AutoCAD and Revit.
General knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

Plan, design and direct electrical engineering projects within the Design Department.
Prepare design computations and cost estimates for smaller projects.
Use CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) to produce engineering and design documents.
Make calculations for lighting, power distribution, and equipment sizing.
Create electrical riser drawings and equipment schedules.
Provide drawings and sketches for drafters; coordinate with Project Designer/Engineer.
Research code issues and maintain compliance with standards.
Keep Project Manager informed of workload and scope changes.
