Job summary

Schenck USA Corp. in Deer Park, NY is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical control systems for industrial machinery, including power distribution, PLCs, and drive systems.

You will create schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and documentation; test and validate designs for safety and performance; and collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and suppliers. The role requires a 4-year electrical engineering degree and 5–10 years of panel and power distribution design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in electrical panel and power distribution design in a manufacturing environment; aerospace experience is a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; EPLAN P8 a plus.
• Experience with PLCs, especially Allen-Bradley.
• Ability to manage projects under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial machinery, including power distribution, PLCs, drive systems, relays, and machine automation controls.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation for new and existing products.
• Test, troubleshoot, and validate electrical designs to ensure compliance with performance requirements, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Support R&D by evaluating new technologies and contributing to continuous product improvements.
• Coordinate prototype builds and collaborate with manufacturing teams to support fabrication, assembly, testing, and product release activities.
• Work closely with vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and implement design modifications.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical support to Sales, Applications Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams, including project estimates, quotations, and troubleshooting assistance.
