Job summary

PPS seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems for industrial automation, controls, and process applications.

This role focuses on electrical design, layouts, schematics, control panels, and documentation for automation and control systems, collaborating with Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and field technicians to deliver safe, code-compliant, and buildable designs from concept to startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3–7+ years of electrical design experience in industrial automation or related fields.
• Strong experience creating electrical schematics and control system drawings.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Understanding of NEC/NFPA/UL requirements and panel fabrication considerations.
• Experience developing BOMs, panel layouts, and interconnection drawings.
• Knowledge of PLC I/O and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs for industrial automation and control systems.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and system drawings.
• Design control panels, motor control systems, instrumentation, and interfaces.
• Develop electrical layouts for automated piping and process systems.
• Maintain BOMs and ensure designs are practical, buildable, and cost-effective.
• Prepare and maintain electrical drawings and project documentation.
• Support panel shop fabrication and field installations.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and customers.
• Review drawings for completeness and constructability.
