Job summary
SEL Engineering Services is seeking a design engineer to develop detailed physical and electrical designs, BOMs, and project estimates under a technical lead. You will prepare CAD drawings and project documentation, and support project leads with design engineering insights.
You will also create technical specifications, meet timelines and budgets, and mentor interns and junior designers while expanding knowledge of SEL equipment and automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in EET, CAD, Drafting, or equivalent experience.
- Six+ years of high voltage electrical design experience incl. protective relay systems.
- Expert CAD drafting with Autocad or MicroStation.
- Willing to travel as needed.
- Strong writing, documentation and speaking skills.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed physical and electrical designs, BOMs and support estimates under a technical lead.
- Prepare CAD drawings and project documentation.
- Provide design engineering support to project leads.
- Prepare technical specifications for review.
- Complete assigned work within timelines and budgets with quality.
- Mentor interns, drafters and junior designers.
- Develop knowledge of SEL equipment and automation solutions.
