Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Houston, Texas offers an internship position for students pursuing a degree in EET or related discipline.

You will support engineers in developing protection and control designs, prepare drawings and BOMs, and learn drafting standards using AutoCAD and MicroStation under experienced mentors. • Construct relay equipment racks for testing and assist with testing.
• Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.

• Support engineers in developing protection and control, substation, and industrial electrical designs, including preparation of drawings, bills of materials, and project documentation.
• Learn and apply drafting standards using AutoCAD and MicroStation under the guidance of experienced designers and engineers.
• Participate in engineering design reviews and technical discussions.
• Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
• Construct relay equipment racks for testing purposes on projects and assist with the testing.
• Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
• Understand. Create. Simplify.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
