A leading company in the automation sector is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design custom machinery. The role includes sizing controls, creating diagrams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have an engineering degree and a solid background in PLC and HMI technologies. - Design of hardware for custom-built automated machinery and systems.
- Sizing and dimensioning of controls, measurement, and drive technologies.
- Creation of electrical hardware diagrams and BOMs in PDM system.
- Participation and support in creating safety concepts.
- Calculation of proper incoming and branch circuit protection.
- Calculation of wire sizing, with knowledge of Eplan.
- Creation of panel layouts and interface clarification.
- Development of electrical wiring schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, organization of release packages, and schematic updates. Knowledge of Eplan is highly advantageous.
- Clarification of technical details with customers and suppliers.
- Participation in internal and customer design reviews, installations, and service calls when needed.
- Adherence to policies and procedures to maintain ISO9000 certification.
- Temporary takeover of the role as Main Responsible for Hardware Engineering within the project, if required.
- Engineering degree in electronics, electrical, controls technology, or equivalent with 5 years of experience in custom system design, automation, control system design, PLC, and HMI.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, servo control, and electrical design.
- Knowledge of electrical and controls engineering principles.
- Strong electrical aptitude, safety practices, and code knowledge.
- Experience with inverter, power electronics, and EMV technologies is preferred.
- AutoCAD experience for modifying electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with Eplan P8 or 2022 is required.
- Good knowledge of ISO, OSHA, cGMP requirements, and industry practices.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel or work extended hours when necessary.
