Job summary

Federal Pacific seeks an Engineer, Mechanical or Electrical (ME/EE) to design and support our product line. They will serve as the go-to technical resource for designers, drafters, and other teams, ensuring accurate information flows to manufacturing and customers.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills, with responsibility for job release, oversight of drawings/BOMs, and collaboration across marketing, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; a 2-year technical degree is acceptable with experience.
• At least three years of industry experience in the assigned discipline.
• Familiarity with UL, IEEE, ANSI and NEMA standards as they apply to our products.
• Strong written and verbal communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from the lead engineer or engineering manager.
• Provide direction for the designers and draftsmen as needed.
• Interfaces with marketing, customers, all facets of manufacturing, quality, regulatory agencies and standards groups.
• Participates in quote and order reviews, and provides input with regards to quotes and orders.
• Feeds work to the designers under the direction of the lead or senior engineers; balance engineering and drafting tasks.
• Responsible to meet master schedule promise dates for the jobs assigned.
• Identifies cost savings equal to or exceeding annual salary.
• Review for release all approval drawings with lead or senior engineer prior to sending to customers.
• Review all manufacturing drawings and BOMs for the jobs assigned prior to release to the shop floor.
• Assist with R&D efforts as needed.
• Direct and participate in cost savings projects as instructed by the lead engineer or engineering manager.
• Adhere to and comply with all company policies and department procedures.
• Work overtime as required or directed by the lead engineer or engineering manager.
