Job summary

TECHSTAFF of AZ in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems interfacing with military platforms.

The role involves designing CCAs and PCBs, defining hardware I/O, debugging firmware, and documenting requirements. Candidates should have 6+ years in electrical/computer engineering or 9+ years with an associate degree, and must be able to obtain a Security Clearance under ITAR regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
• 6+ years electrical/computer engineering experience; or 9+ years with an Associate degree.
• Extensive hands-on PCB design using ECAD tools is required.
• Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance and comply with ITAR (U.S. Person).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems including CCAs and PCBs.
• Architect, design, develop, debug, deploy, and maintain hardware for new/existing products.
• Determine hardware I/O and system requirements.
• Test embedded software and firmware.
• Evaluate designs and recommend improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovations.
• Assist with documentation such as specifications, test plans, and reports.
• Occasional travel may be required.
