TECHSTAFF of AZ in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems interfacing with military platforms.

The role involves designing CCAs and PCBs, defining hardware I/O, debugging firmware, and documenting requirements. Candidates should have 6+ years in electrical/computer engineering or 9+ years with an associate degree, and must be able to obtain a Security Clearance under ITAR regulations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
• 6+ years electrical/computer engineering experience; or 9+ years with an Associate degree.
• Extensive hands-on PCB design using ECAD tools is required.
• Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance and comply with ITAR (U.S. Person).

Overview

We are seeking a talented and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mesa, AZ. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of complex electrical systems typically interfacing with military platforms including aircraft. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems consisting of CCAs and printed circuit boards.
• Architect, design, develop, debug, deploy, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware for new and existing products.
• Determine and document hardware and data input/output and system requirements.
• Test and install embedded software and firmware.
• Evaluate system and software designs, equipment, and techniques and make recommendations for design improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
• Support the documentation process, including specifications, test plans, and reports.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
• 6+ years experience in electrical/computer engineering; or
• Associates degree and 9+ years electronic design experience may substitute Bachelor's degree.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing printed circuit boards using a professional ECAD platform such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Siemens Xpedition/PADS Professional, or Zuken CR-8000 is required.
• Knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP, RS-485, etc.) required.
• Must be able to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams and to organize and prioritize tasks and activities.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.

Skills needed are Circuit Design and PCB layout experience for microcontrollers or analog circuits. Altium Designer or other ECAD platform is important.
