Job Description

PROCON LLC, the Northeast’s largest design-build commercial construction firm, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer. You will collaborate daily with architects, engineers, project managers, estimators, and developers. Your responsibilities include designing electrical systems, creating installation details, layouts, and sizing from conceptual design through construction administration and warranty troubleshooting. Proficiency with electrical service requirements, distribution sizing, panel schedules, and circuiting is essential.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and revise documentation in various project phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details in Revit.
2. Coordinate with Structural, Mechanical, and Architectural disciplines to ensure design compatibility.
3. Review shop drawings and submittals; respond to RFIs; prepare site observation reports.
4. Support project team in developing design documentation, plans, and reports.
5. Select electrical systems and materials.
6. Participate in project coordination meetings.
7. Contribute to value engineering and basic cost estimating.
8. Implement sustainable design principles.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of electrical design experience in commercial construction.
2. Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam; familiarity with photometric software is a plus.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering Technology.
4. Professional Engineering License preferred.
5. Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and standards.
6. Understanding of engineering document production and drawing/specification relationships.
7. Strong attention to accuracy, time management, and collaboration skills.
8. Ability to communicate electrical concepts effectively and interpret sketches and drawings.
9. Experience in design-build commercial projects is preferred.
10. Self-starter with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
