Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician in Oxford, NC to keep critical construction equipment and electrical controls running at peak performance. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience with PLC-based systems (Allen Bradley/Siemens) and a strong mechanical understanding to support hydraulic and pneumatic subsystems.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and implement improvements to reliability and safety in a fast-paced construction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical controls, industrial maintenance, or a closely related technical role.
• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and interaction with mechanical systems.
• Experience maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Strong preventive maintenance skills and fault identification.
• Blueprint reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Proficient with electrical testing instruments.
• Knowledge of motors, variable frequency drives, and sensors.
• Commitment to safe work practices in active construction environments.
• Technical training or apprenticeship in electrical technology preferred; equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical controls and equipment for construction ops.
• Diagnose faults in PLC-based systems (Allen Bradley/Siemens) and related hardware.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Read blueprints and schematics to guide installation and repairs.
• Troubleshoot integrated electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; identify root causes.
• Support equipment commissioning and system upgrades with project teams.
• Inspect wiring, panels, motors, and control devices for safe operation.
• Document maintenance activities and diagnostics clearly.
• Collaborate with construction crews to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Follow electrical codes and lockout/tagout procedures.
