Job summary

Enbridge is seeking an entry-level Electrical Controls Technician I to help maintain and troubleshoot electrical control systems at our compressor stations, ensuring safe, reliable operations.

You will gain operational competencies toward becoming a Level I Station Operator, with residency within 30 miles of the reporting location. The role may require overtime, weekends, on-call shifts, and occasional overnight travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent education with minimal years of directly related experience in electrical/instrumentation and industrial type settings.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical systems and equipment such as switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans.
• Maintain DC electrical systems and equipment such as batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters.
• Maintain station and unit level electrical control systems and their components such as PLCs, HMIs, and control networks.
• Maintain station and unit level electrical control system end devices such as motor controls, pressure transmitters, pressure switches, temperature sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and actuators.
• Maintain safety systems and their components such as ESD panels, gas detectors, flame detectors, and manual activation switches.
• Assist in planning work and contributing budget-related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.
• Ensure the proper operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of station systems such as air systems, air dryer systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas compression, prime mover, and all other equipment necessary to maintain gas delivery through the compressor station.
• Perform station maintenance activities, including but not limited to wastewater and/or environmental compliance and documentation, gas loss reporting, daily station inspections, and station operations.
• Responsibilities may require daily oversight and support of station activities, including weekends and extended coverage up to seven days per week.
• Recognize and respond to abnormal operating conditions, while completing accurate documentation and reports in alignment with company and regulatory requirements.

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
• Residency Requirement: Must reside within 30 Miles of the assigned reporting location.
• Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.
• Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as an Electrical Controls Technician.

Salary Range:

Between $29.25 USD and $43.75 USD.
