Job summary

Johnson Controls in Minnesota is seeking an electrical installation technician to install and checkout a variety of systems under general supervision. You will work with Prime electrical contractors and develop a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.

Qualifications

• Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Working knowledge of local electrical codes applicable to controls.
• Experience determining installation material scope and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Install raceways, cables and wiring to meet codes and project requirements.
• Mount and terminate controls equipment as needed.
• Assist sales with electrical estimates and retrofit projects.
• Determine termination points for equipment interfaced with the installed system.
• Check wiring and terminations with test instruments.
• Keep management informed of job needs and progress.
• Complete on-site paperwork and drawings updates.
• Resolve site conflicts and escalate when needed.
• Communicate with customers on arrival and departure.
• Adhere to Johnson Controls safety programs.
