Job summary

Cogent Analytics in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks an experienced electrical controls engineer to design UL 508A panels from scratch and develop schematics using EPLAN.

You will configure PLC/HMI solutions across HVAC/refrigeration applications, write ladder logic and structured text, and collaborate with engineering and production to translate requirements into robust control systems. familiarity with NEC 500-505 and hazardous-location work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing UL 508A control panels from scratch (AB/Siemens experience helpful).
• Strong fundamentals in electrical control design (relay logic, motor controls, power distribution).
• Experience with industrial/HVAC controller platforms and PLC/HMI programming.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics independently; NEC 500-505 familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design UL 508A control panels from scratch: enclosure, components, and internal layout.
• Develop electrical schematics and panel drawings (EPLAN experience a plus).
• Program and configure PLCs and HMIs for HVAC/refrigeration equipment across multiple platforms.
• Write and troubleshoot control logic in ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams, or C/C++.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to translate system requirements into control solutions.
