We're looking for an Electrical Engineer experienced in designing and commissioning industrial control panels as well as PLC programming and implementation with standard communication protocols for an HVAC engineering company.
$80,000 - $120,000 a year
Responsibilities
- Design UL 508A control panels from scratch: enclosure selection, component selection (breakers, contactors, relays, terminal blocks, power supplies), and internal layout
- Develop electrical schematics and panel drawings (EPLAN experience a plus — we're rolling it out)
- Program and configure PLCs and HMIs for custom HVAC/refrigeration equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Carel, Honeywell/Johnson Controls, Danfoss, or Emerson platforms)
- Write and troubleshoot control logic in ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram, and/or C/C++
- Partner with engineering and production to translate system requirements into control solutions
- Support controls integration for explosion-proof/hazardous-location equipment (NFPA 496, Class I/II Div 1 & 2 a plus)
- Troubleshoot panels and wiring during build, test, and commissioning
- Maintain BOMs and support UL field-labeling/certification
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience designing UL 508A control panels from scratch
- Strong fundamentals in electrical control design (relay logic, motor controls, power distribution)
- Experience with one or more industrial/HVAC controller platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Carel, Honeywell/Johnson Controls, Danfoss, Emerson)
- Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, or function block programming; C/C++ a plus
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics independently
- Familiarity with NEC 500-505 and UL 508A standards
- EPLAN or comparable electrical CAD experience a plus
- Industrial, HVAC/refrigeration, or hazardous-location experience a plus
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Benefits - Health, dental, vision
