Job summary
Baker Hughes is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in Oklahoma to drive design and development of power converters, inverters, and gate drivers for industrial variable speed drives. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance, reliable drive systems for energy extraction applications.
The role demands strong expertise in power electronics, fault management, and advanced control systems, with collaboration across engineering, product development, and supply chain
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in power electronics design (AC/DC and DC/AC).
- Experience developing gate drivers, fault detection systems, and protection schemes.
Responsibilities
- Define and validate power converter and inverter architectures for industrial applications.
- Lead analytical and design activities using established power electronics methodologies.
- Develop gate driver designs for optimal performance and reliability.
- Create fault detection, protection, and signaling schemes for diagnostics and mitigation.
- Support development of advanced power control algorithms for industrial VSDs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate power section performance and manufacturability.
- Communicate technical strategies to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to technical documentation and design guidelines.
