Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Control System Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment
• GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship; candidates must not require GM sponsorship now or in the future
• Prior internship experience in manufacturing, automotive, or technology preferred
• PLC programming experience preferred
• Working knowledge of process equipment operations, sequence, error proofing, and diagnostic capabilities preferred
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
• Ability to detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment
• Ability to work in a loud, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
• Ability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach repetitively
• Ability to lift or carry materials up to 15 pounds and periodically up to 40 pounds
• Ability to occasionally sit, climb ladders and lifts, and drive vehicles and equipment

Responsibilities

• Support smooth functioning of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing support systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant equipment
• Manage and execute plant launches and projects
• Work with teams that design, build, construct, and maintain facilities
• Support safe, compliant, cost-efficient facilities using advanced technology and sustainable practices
• Engineer high-quality, sustainable systems and processes supporting future business productivity
• Support electrical first-time quality and lead plant electrical troubleshooting efforts
