Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer for the Wentzville Assembly site. You will own building and utility electrical systems, provide technical guidance, and drive safety, reliability, and energy efficiency across the plant. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, collaboration with trades and contractors, and the ability to support manufacturing operations, including off-shift needs.

Position is onsite in Wentzville, MO with travel <25% and potential relocation benefits. A BS in Electrical Engineering is required, with experience in industrial power distribution and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with significant electrical coursework/experience.
• Experience designing, maintaining, and operating industrial/commercial building electrical systems.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to work with trades, contractors, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact for facilities electrical needs in your area, ensuring proper operation of manufacturing facilities.
• Own building and utility electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, substations, MCCs, lighting, UPS/generators, building power/controls).
• Provide technical direction to partners and contractors, ensuring safe work practices and GM standards.
• Apply rigorous problem-solving to electrical/facilities issues impacting safety, quality, throughput or cost.
• Plan and execute capital/expense projects involving building electrical systems, including scopes, estimates and justifications.
• Bid and establish equipment/contracts and procure construction management resources.
• Ensure compliance with GM standards and regulatory requirements; support maintenance and improvements; lead cross-functional teams.
