Job summary

Security Automation Systems, Inc. in Indianapolis seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, configure, procure, construct and install integrated security control systems for correctional facilities.

The role reports to the VP of Engineering and requires PLC and HMI expertise, system integration, and leadership of field technicians. Occasional travel and a strong focus on reliability and precision.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical engineering degree required.
• Recent PLC programming and HMI development experience.
• Knowledge of security electronics hardware (locks, CCTV, access control, intercom) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop security control systems from customer specs.
• Program and test security electronics equipment at facilities in the Midwest.
• Oversee system commissioning and start-up.
• Maintain professional client communications throughout the project life cycle.
• Take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
• Supervise field technicians and temporary labor.
