Job summary

Security Automation Systems in the Midwest seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, configure, procure, build and install components for complete integrated security systems. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this overtime-exempt role requires ownership and precision.

Responsibilities include designing from specifications, testing security electronics, commissioning projects, and guiding field technicians, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Recent PLC programming and HMI development experience.
  • Integrated systems design experience.
  • 4-year Technical Engineering Degree.
  • General knowledge of security electronics hardware incl. door locks, CCTV, access control, intercoms.

  • Program and test security electronics equipment at correctional and commercial facilities.
  • Facilitate security electronics system commissioning (start-up) of projects.
  • Diplomatically respond to clients with professionalism during the project lifecycle.
  • Take substantial ownership of assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain positive budgets on assigned project functions.
  • Provide supervision of field technicians and temporary labor.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly responsible and technically skilled individual to fulfill the role of Electrical Controls Engineer. This position will be responsible for the design, programming, configuration, procurement, construction and installationof the various components that comprise a complete integrated system. This position will report to the VP of Engineering and will be an overtime exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work from customer specifications to design and develop security control systems
  • Program and test security electronics equipment at correctional and commercial/other
    facilities throughout the Midwest
  • Facilitate security electronics system commissioning (start-up) of projects
  • Diplomatically respond to clients with professionalism and maturity during the project
    lifecycle
  • Take substantial ownership of assigned projects and require minimal assistance/supervision from direct manager
  • Consistently maintain positive budgets on assigned project functions
  • Provide supervision of field technicians and temporary labor
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Recent PLC programming and HMI development experience
  • Integrated systems design experience
  • 4-year Technical Engineering Degree
  • General knowledge of security electronics hardware including, but not limited to, door locks, CCTV systems, access control systems and intercom communication systems would be beneficial
Functional Requirements:
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Occasional day and overnight travel
