Job summary
STEM Talent Solutions seeks a hands-on Electrical Control Engineer to design, program, and commission control systems for a manufacturing facility in the Indianapolis area.
You will build PLC and HMI software, coordinate with clients, ensure safety circuits, and document all work from concept through startup. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience and a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Qualifications
- Hands-on PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial automation experience.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or EPLAN and electrical design tools.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI and UL electrical standards.
- Experience designing safety circuits for industrial machinery.
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Design and fine-tune electrical control circuits and troubleshoot issues.
- Build and test PLC/HMI software for automation platforms.
- Oversee commissioning and ensure reliable system operation.
- Collaborate with clients to confirm technical needs and specs.
- Coordinate multiple projects, keep them on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing support.
- Deliver technical service and troubleshooting when needed.
- Keep project records and documentation up-to-date.
