Job summary

S.G. Morris Co. (SGM), a leading fluid power distributor and engineering solutions provider, seeks a Controls Engineer to design fluid power systems, prepare schematics, and manage projects for customer systems.

Responsibilities include wiring diagrams, BOMs, panel layouts, and PLC/HMI programming with RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000, plus shop coordination and occasional travel. The role requires an engineering degree (Electrical preferred), CAD proficiency, and ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, Electrical preferred.
• Working knowledge of CAD.
• Ability to read / understand technical drawings.
• Fluid Power Industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop control schematics and component BOM to meet application requirements.
• Program PLCs and HMIs using RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000.
• Develop full electrical project schematics and panel layouts.
• Develop wiring diagrams and ensure wiring layout flow and isolation.
• Work with shop to ensure wiring complies with project requirements.
• Travel to customer locations occasionally.
• Mechanical hands-on assistance may be required.
