Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in the Portland metro region. This permanent, onsite role focuses on PLC programming, automation integration, and machine startup, with additional electrical design duties.

You will work on robotics, vision, motion control, and custom manufacturing equipment across multiple projects, benefiting from strong mentorship and growth opportunities. The position is based in Tualatin, OR, with minimal travel, and offers a hands-on engineering

Qualifications

BSEE and 5+ years demonstrable experience in electrical and controls engineering.
Experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley PLC platforms, RSLogix and FactoryTalk.
HMI programming and integration with PLC-based control systems.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools for schematics and control panels.

Responsibilities

Program, modify, and debug PLC-based control systems for automation equipment.
Develop new PLC programs and update existing ones to support system changes.
Configure I/O, tune control logic, and commission equipment for safe operation.
Troubleshoot automation systems during build, testing, and startup.
Review electrical designs for completeness and compliance with standards.
Create and modify control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Integrate robotics, machine vision, motion control, and automation tech into equipment.
