Job summary

Georgia-Pacific seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to join the Capital Projects & Engineering, Machine Controls team in Green Bay, WI. The role targets students graduating in Spring 2027 and focuses on designing, implementing, and validating control systems for large capital projects.

The engineer will develop PLC/HMI applications, integrate equipment, collect process data, and work with operators and engineers to improve safety, reliability, and equipment uptime across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with expected Spring 2027 graduation
• Eligible for full-time employment in the United States without sponsorship
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and travel up to 50% of the time
• Ability to travel as required by project needs

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, implementation, and startup of capital and expense projects with internal and external partners
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and process control applications to improve safety, quality, and productivity
• Integrate equipment and collect process data to unlock opportunities for reliability and operational improvements
• Utilize and improve standards for design and construction of control systems, electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and automation
• Validate machine control systems in support of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Collaborate with operators, technicians, and engineers to develop sustainable solutions to recurring issues, increasing uptime and design efficiency
