Georgia-Pacific Electrical Controls Engineer EDP (Green Bay, WI) is seeking an aspiring Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Capital Projects & Engineering, Machine Controls team in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The role is designed for students graduating in Spring 2027 and involves developing and delivering large capital projects, obsolescence upgrades, and safety risk reduction initiatives across major facilities.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an anticipated graduation date in Spring 2027.
Eligible for full-time employment in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and spend time in plant operations areas.
Able to travel up to 50% of the time depending on the project.

Responsibilities

Assist with the design, implementation, and startup of capital and expense projects, working closely with internal and external partners
Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and process control applications to improve safety, quality, and productivity
Integrate equipment and collect process data to unlock opportunities for reliability and operational improvements
Utilize and improve standards and specifications for design and construction of control systems, electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and automation
Validate machine control systems in support of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements
Partner with operators, technicians, and engineers to develop sustainable solutions to recurring issues, increasing equipment uptime and design efficiency.
