Job summary

Jobot in Tulsa, OK, seeks an experienced electrical controls engineer to lead the design and hands-on development of industrial process equipment, with high autonomy within a small, collaborative team.

You will bridge electrical design and controls engineering, program Allen-Bradley PLCs, troubleshoot systems, participate in commissioning, and help develop control narratives and I/O documentation.

This senior role offers a competitive salary and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in electrical controls, automation, industrial controls, or related engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs / ControlLogix / Studio 5000.
  • Experience with FactoryTalk.
  • Experience designing electrical control systems and/or control panels.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring, I/O, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with industrial automation and process equipment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.
  • Industrial/manufacturing/process environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical and control systems for industrial process equipment.
  • Develop control-panel designs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O documentation.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000.
  • Develop and maintain FactoryTalk HMI/SCADA applications.
  • Integrate instrumentation, sensors, valves, motors, and other components.
  • Develop control narratives and sequence-of-operation documentation.
  • Support component selection and control-system architecture.
  • Review P&IDs and translate process requirements into automated control strategies.
  • Participate in FAT/SAT activities and equipment testing.

Our client designs and manufactures sophisticated industrial equipment requiring integrated electrical, automation, instrumentation, and control systems. The engineering team is looking for an experienced professional who can bridge the gap between electrical design and hands-on controls engineering. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys designing the electrical/control architecture but also wants to program PLCs, troubleshoot systems, and participate in commissioning.
