Job summary

Amazon.com LLC - A03 in Westborough, MA is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer to design and implement electrical power distribution and control systems for material handling projects, ensuring safety, reliability, and NEC compliance across complex industrial environments.

You will work with cross-functional teams, specify and integrate VFDs, PLCs, IPCs, SCADA, and industrial networks, mentor junior engineers, and develop standardized designs and documentation for scalable

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
4+ years of electrical & controls design for industrial/material handling systems.
Strong knowledge of EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET.
Experience with VFD selection, programming, and interfaces.
IPC/PLC programming and SCADA system design.
Experience with sensors, encoders, safety circuits, safety devices.
NEC knowledge for industrial installations.
3-phase and single-phase power distribution design.
In-field audits and code compliance experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.

Responsibilities

Design power and control systems for material handling projects (3-phase and single-phase).
Create electrical layouts, schematics, control architectures, and panel standardization.
Develop scalable power distribution with reliable, maintainable designs.
Implement industrial networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).
Specify and integrate IPCs, PLCs, SCADA, and VFDs; select sensors and safety devices.
Conduct in-field installation audits to ensure NEC and safety compliance.
Collaborate with mechanical, software and project teams; mentor junior engineers.
