Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead maintenance of material handling automation in a high-demand site. You will troubleshoot PLC-based controls, support Siemens, AB, and Codesys platforms, and ensure reliable operations.

You will collaborate with maintenance and operations, analyze data, and drive improvements while working a flexible schedule. This role offers strong growth within a leading fulfillment network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or 2 years PLC exposure.
• Experience with PLC-based controls design, development and support.
• Hands-on Ladder Logic and structured programming on Siemens/AB/Codesys PLCs or 2 years equivalent.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays.
• Preferred: material handling, flow and capacity experience.
• Preferred: industrial control systems hardware and software experience.

Responsibilities

• Site expert for maintaining automation systems essential to operations.
• Troubleshoot and maintain material handling control systems incl. PLC/PC controllers, networks, motor drives, servo drives, frequency drives and electrical distribution.
• Monitor equipment metrics and collaborate with maintenance and operations to resolve performance issues.
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians on-site and remotely.
• Perform and evaluate building system assessments to improve material handling performance.
• Deliver proactive controls automation and technical support to maximize reliability and performance.
• Analyze performance data and address complex control issues to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment and drive innovative projects.
