Job summary

Höganäs AB is seeking an Electrical Control Systems Engineer to support both new and existing automation equipment across multiple facilities. You will design, develop, and implement automated systems to boost efficiency and productivity, while coordinating CAPEX projects and supervising contractors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least three years of manufacturing experience and proficiency in CAD, MS Project, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements automated systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluates and provides justification, specifications, scope of work, design drawings, bidding, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of assigned automation projects.
  • Provides support for automation equipment across facilities using mechanical, electrical, automation, and process engineering expertise.
  • Explores ways to improve or upgrade automation systems.
  • Participates in CAPEX preparation and monitors cost, quality, and time constraints of investments.
  • Arranges outside contractors to perform work at the facility.
  • Prepares and maintains engineering designs with basic CAD design.

About The Position

The Electrical Control Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting both new and existing automation equipment across various facilities and departments. Their technical expertise helps in reducing operating costs, increasing productivity, minimizing labor intensive operations, and enhancing product quality. Additionally, they participate in the coordination of capital investment projects.

  • Designs, develops, and implements automated systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluates and provides justification, specifications, scope of work, design drawings, bidding, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of assigned automation projects.
  • Provides support for all automation equipment across various facilities and departments, utilizing technical expertise in the fields such as mechanical, electrical, automation, and process engineering.
  • Explores ways to improve or upgrade automation systems
  • Participates in CAPEX preparation process and monitors overall cost, quality, and time constrains of these investments.

Your profile

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of three years of work experience in a manufacturing environment are required.

  • Automation programming/PLC experience in a manufacturing environment including process controls, problem solving, troubleshooting, design and implementation of automated systems
  • Ability to use CAD software, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in writing and communicating detailed engineering reports, showing ability to identify problems, and recommend process improvements.
