Job summary

Young Electric + Communications in San Francisco seeks an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager who can own projects from handoff through closeout. Qualifications

  • Significant experience managing commercial electrical construction projects with direct responsibility for project financial results.
  • Ability to independently manage projects from startup through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, sequencing labor planning, procurement, and field operations.
  • Hands-on experience estimating electrical work and preparing change-order pricing using Accubid or comparable estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of project cost controls, forecasting, billing, and change management.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Healthcare construction, occupied-facility renovation, or HCAI project experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of commercial electrical project from turnover through final closeout.
  • Manage project financial performance, including budgets, cost forecasting, labor performance, billing, change orders, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, procurement plans, and material/equipment requirements.
  • Partner closely with general foremen and field crews, general contractors, owners, designers, vendors, and inspectors.
  • Monitor labor productivity and resolve issues before they affect cost or schedule.
  • Lead coordination with general contractors, owners, designers, vendors, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and scope requirements to identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and review electrical estimates, change-order pricing, scope revisions using Accubid or comparable software.
  • Navigate and manage change orders and communicate their financial and schedule impact.
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients and YEC leadership regarding project status, cost, schedule, scope, and risk.

Young Electric + Communications is a San Francisco electrical contractor with nearly 50 years of experience delivering commercial electrical projects throughout the Bay Area.

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager who can take full ownership of projects from handoff through closeout.This role is for someone who understands both the financial and field sides of electrical construction and can independently manage budgets, schedules, labor planning, procurement, change orders, billing, client relationships, and project risk.

Healthcare construction experience, occupied-facility renovation, and HCAI project experience are highly valued.

What You’ll Do
