Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing is seeking a Deputy Project Leader/Manager in Washington, DC to oversee electrical construction projects from initiation to closeout, including bidding and implementation phases.

The role emphasizes scheduling, cost control, procurement coordination, and safety compliance, with opportunities to lead teams and work with systems such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field.
5+ years of electrical construction experience with a Bachelor's degree.
Working knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6.
Ability to create project schedules and scheduling of resources.
Ability to estimate project work and prepare customer proposals.
Understanding of critical path analysis of project and resource data.
Ability to discuss project and resource schedules, costs, and budgets with leadership.
Working knowledge of procurement processes, including evaluating suppliers.
Ability to create technical documentation, including design documents and reference libraries.
Strong communications and presentation skills.
Team building and team leadership skills.
Experience with tools: MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, MS Project Server, MS Office, AutoCAD, EDMS, Visio, SharePoint, Estimating tools.

Responsibilities

Performing the administration and implementation of electrical construction projects or portions.
Managing one or more phases of a project lifecycle from proposal through close.
Assisting with project documentation and resource planning.
Coordinating project kick-off meetings and developing WBS with resources.
Scheduling resources and maintaining baseline project schedule.
Creating baseline vs actual reports on resources.
Providing site surveys, cost studies, forecasts and progress reports.
Assisting with data collection on progress for self-perform and contractor work.
Ensuring project scope, budget, and schedule variances remain acceptable.
Developing and maintaining project artifacts, shop drawings, and manuals.
Assisting with procurement of major materials and permits as needed.
Estimating and conferring with estimators and engineers to resolve issues.
Reviewing project schedules with GC and customers as requested.
Integrating data from multiple systems to analyze project progress.
Ensuring timely completion of punch-list items and as-built drawings.
