Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking a Project Engineer 1 - Electrical Construction in the Irvine, CA area to support project teams on electrical construction efforts. The role emphasizes planning, scheduling, document control, and cost projections to maintain project performance.

The incumbent will work under a Project Manager, coordinating with design teams and subcontractors, and will help manage engineering interfaces, procurement, and contract administration on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience and education in project or field engineering.
• 2+ years’ experience in the construction or engineering field.
• Proven abilities in leadership and management, communication, planning, organization, delegation, teaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
• Review, analyze and resolve design/construction problems with design team and client.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with requirements and support the project schedule.
• Create and manage a contract execution plan.
• Provide technical support for construction including design interpretation and constructability reviews.
• Develop and administer document control program for design documents on site.
• Maintain project logs, submittal tracking and related documentation.
• Represent company in design review meetings and project coordination meetings.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for subcontracts and vendor purchases.
• Oversee the project master schedule and control its updates.
• Oversee Contract Administration changes and their impact.
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Promote environmental health and safety programs on the project.
• Manage and support the project team and project closeout activities.
