Job summary

SteerBridge, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager – Electrical Engineer to provide specialized electrical engineering and construction management support for VA Medical Facilities.

The role covers planning, design review, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout, balancing patient safety and operational continuity. Based onsite at Wilmington VA Medical Center, DE, the CM-EE will coordinate with diverse stakeholders to ensure constructable, compliant, and timely project delivery

Qualifications

• Current professional licensure in electrical engineering and a degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 6 years of design and construction experience.
• Ability to quickly understand and apply local, state, and federal electrical requirements.
• Strong communication and software skills; proficiency in MS Office and construction software.
• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and VA PIV badge.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Government's owner’s representative for electrical engineering matters throughout all phases of assigned construction projects.
• Provide construction management and technical support during planning, design review, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Review plans, specs, SOWs, RFIs, change requests, contractor proposals, and schedules for completeness and compliance.
• Evaluate field conditions and electrical systems; identify deficiencies and provide practical recommendations.
• Coordinate with VA staff, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Participate in planning, constructability reviews, site investigations, and risk assessments.
• Monitor contractor performance with site observations and document reviews; track corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate project records and required work products per VA and contract requirements.
• Support evaluation of changes, schedule impacts, and contractor claims; assist with corrective actions.
• Apply local, state, federal requirements to construction in occupied healthcare environments.
