Job summary

Texas State Technical College seeks an Instructor to deliver high-quality electrical instruction in an applied learning environment. You will facilitate engaging activities, provide mentorship, and integrate technology to enhance student outcomes.

The role requires verifiable electrical experience, licensure (TDLR journeyman or master), and the ability to interpret blueprints while teaching Safety, NEC, and wiring concepts. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

Verifiable work experience in the electrical construction industry.
Journeyman or master electrician's license through TDLR.
Ability to explain and demonstrate knowledge of safety, NEC, circuits, and wiring applications.
Familiarity with residential, commercial, and industrial wiring, conduits, and panels.
Capable of interpreting blueprints and performing basic PLCs/motor control tasks.
Proficient with electrical testing instruments and standard hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

Deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment.
Engage students through activities, guidance, and mentorship to support learning outcomes.
Integrate technology to enrich instructional experiences and student engagement.
Maintain accurate student records and ensure a safe instructional environment.
Assist in recruitment and program promotion; participate in related tours.
Act as an ambassador for the college and uphold core values.
