Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) invites applications for an Instructor role focused on Electrical Power & Controls. You will share your expertise to help students prepare for successful careers in the trades in a dedicated learning environment.

Deliver high‑quality instruction, develop course syllabi, and mentor students while leveraging technology to enrich the classroom. Evening/weekend availability and program recruitment duties may be required.

Qualifications

Verifiable work experience in Electrical Power & Controls or a closely related industry.
Ability to explain electrical safety procedures including PPE selection and lock out/tag out methods.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E and PPE requirements.
Reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
Experience with electrical motors, controllers, and drive systems.
Ladder logic and PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred).
Knowledge of NEC electrical code applications and distribution systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver high‑quality instruction and facilitate student learning, with syllabi and instructional plans.
Fulfill assigned schedule and maintain accurate student records and class environment.
Advise students and collaborate with Student Success for retention.
Participate in program recruitment and related promotion activities.
Demonstrate core values and professionalism with students and community.
Utilize technology to enrich learning experiences and facilitate assessments.
