Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Chief Electrical Technologist to identify constructability improvements in electrical designs and on-site methods. The role includes site visits, collaboration with Electrical Field Engineers and craft supervision to address field challenges and advance installation practices through emerging tools and robotics.

The position supports the Electrical Training Program, advocates for funding, and aims to keep Bechtel at the leading edge of electrical design, installation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 10–13 years experience, or 14–17 years.
• Professional licenses preferred (PE/Chartered Engineer) and NEC/ANSI knowledge advantageous.
• Extensive field electrical experience and ability to improve constructability.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Electrical Field Personnel to categorize challenges and identify solutions.
• Interface with Electrical Engineering Design to improve constructability in design.
• Identify new electrical installation tools and methods to gain competitive advantage.
• Lead installation initiatives applying emerging technology solutions and robotics.
• Maintain technical relationships with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers.
• Provide technical direction for the electrical training program and install tools/robotics.
• Prepare technical presentations for management and project teams.
• Develop and maintain a database of best practices, tools and robotics.
• Contribute to industry advisory committees and codes.
• Champion long-term electrical initiatives.

Skills

Professional Engineer license (PE) or

Extensive field electrical install

Commissioning and lifecycle experience
