Job summary

EC Electric, an Equal Opportunity employer, is seeking an Estimator II to support commercial and industrial electrical estimating and preconstruction activities on-site in Clinton, MD. You will review documents, perform quantity takeoffs, develop estimates, and coordinate vendor/subcontractor input.

Responsibilities include drafting assumptions, exclusions, scope clarifications, and price development while producing competitive bid responses for RFPs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and bid documents.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for quantity takeoffs and ConEst or comparable estimating software.
• Strong MS Excel and Microsoft 365 skills for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Independently completes takeoffs and estimate development for defined scopes or moderately complex projects with periodic review.
• Analyzes plans, specifications, schedules, and bid requirements; develops pricing and documents assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, and scope gaps.
• Coordinates vendor and subcontractor requests, reviews quotations for completeness, and supports labor, productivity, and procurement analysis.
• Participates in estimate kickoff, review, and close activities and assists less-experienced estimators with defined tasks.
• Develops complete, accurate, and competitive responses to RFPs, based on assigned level and project complexity.
• Prepare and issue RFQs to qualified suppliers and subcontractors; review and level responses for scope and completeness.
