Job summary

McKinstry Co., LLC is seeking an Electrical Construction Estimator to join our Pacific Northwest team. You will develop cost estimates for Electrical, Low Voltage and Fire Alarm projects, collaborating with engineering and operations to deliver accurate bids.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in estimating electrical projects and proficient use of Trimble AccuBid, Livecount, and related tools. This role offers large-scale projects and a collaborative, detail-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience estimating electrical construction projects.
• Proficiency in Trimble AccuBid, Livecount and AccuBid Enterprise estimating software preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical, Low Voltage and fire alarm systems.
• Experience with design-build and design-assist projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Bluebeam preferred.
• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop project cost estimates based on designs and schematics.
• Perform detailed takeoffs using estimating software.
• Maintain estimating software and material/labor databases.
• Review quotes from subcontractors and vendors; prepare clarifications.
• Develop initial budgets and estimates with or without drawings or specs.
• Maintain historical construction costs and bid databases.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations to influence design and identify risks.
• Assist in developing RFPs for subcontractors and vendors.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders and bid walks.
• Coach and mentor junior estimators and manage bid logs.
