Job Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Construction Coordinator (Electrical Transmission & Distribution) to join our Electric Services Construction Coordinator Program based out of our Pittsburgh, PA location. We are primarily seeking candidates who reside in the greater Pittsburgh area, including western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, or northern West Virginia, and have prior experience on Electrical Substation, Transmission or Distribution projects.

The role involves planning and coordinating construction activities for a designated project to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within project schedule and budget constraints.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide safety oversight to ensure compliance with all safety procedures at the site. Report safety compliance issues and incidents to the client’s construction manager and Orbital supervisor.
• Participate in construction activity planning, pre-construction drawing reviews, and overall constructability reviews. Ensure necessary permits and site/job specific plans are in place, signed, and posted at the job site.
• Inspect work during construction to ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies and applicable specifications.
• Manage communication with construction crew(s), client project manager, and engineering to resolve queries that may inhibit construction progress.
• Identify field-purchased material needs, communicate them in writing to the client Construction Manager, order materials and rental equipment as necessary, and coordinate deliveries.
• Prepare Daily Log Reports to outline project progression, deficiencies in schedule, completed construction activities, safety incidents, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain redline construction drawing markups, complete weekly safety audits, communicate scope changes, confirm utility locates, and sign crew timesheets.
• Occasionally climb ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Requirements:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Attributes

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or similar.
• Experience in Commercial/Industrial T&D or management preferred.
• Familiarity with construction prints/drawings.
• OSHA 10 hour and MEA specific training is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Competence in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe).
• Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Able to work well in a group setting and manage simultaneous tasks.
• Willing to travel as needed; travel and lodging costs are reimbursable.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to frequent construction sites.
