Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering and Test Group in Laurel, MD. You'll develop and maintain software for lab testbeds using LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python, and contribute to maritime sensing R&D initiatives.

The role involves configuring data acquisition systems, automating tests, applying control theory to distributed sensing, and supporting field integration and post-test analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with scientific/engineering software tools (LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
  • Experience with data acquisition, signal processing, and automated test scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software for lab testbeds and prototype systems using LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Configure data acquisition systems, automate test procedures, and analyze measurement data.
  • Implement and refine sensor interfaces and control routines within DAQ frameworks.
  • Develop and optimize distributed electronic/sensing system control and monitoring.
  • Support field integration and post-test analysis.
