Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to experimental efforts in electronics and acoustics. You will join the Engineering and Test Group to develop software for lab testbeds, configure data acquisition, and implement sensor interfaces while applying control theory where appropriate.

You will work in a collaborative lab environment, with a focus on innovative ideas, hands-on testing, and multidisciplinary teamwork to deliver

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years using LabVIEW, MATLAB and Python in professional settings.
  • Hands-on data acquisition, basic signal processing, and automated test/control scripts.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams; strong communication skills.
  • Must be eligible for U.S. security clearance (Secret).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software for lab testbeds and prototype systems using LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Configure data acquisition systems, automate test procedures, and analyze measurement data.
  • Implement sensor interfaces with signal conditioning and A/D/D/A control within DAQ frameworks.
  • Develop and optimize control/monitoring routines for distributed electronic/sensing systems.
  • Support field integration and testing, including data collection and post-test analysis.
