Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks a Component Engineer to lead the design, development, and qualification of complex cables and interconnect components for high-consequence applications. You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to meet system-level requirements and drive reliable solutions for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Active DOE Q-level security clearance (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify cable assemblies and interconnect components for high-consequence applications.
• Develop electrical parameters for cable assemblies and interconnects to meet system requirements.
• Collaborate with design, systems, quality engineers, and subject matter experts.
• Provide electrical evaluation and analysis on large amounts of test data.
• Write technical reports and cost estimates and present findings.
• Ensure quality products with qualification evidence within cost and schedule constraints.
