Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Review BOM’s for obsolescence.
  • Support design teams in the selection of electronic components.
  • Drive qualifications of EOL/Obsolete component solutions.
  • Investigate and promote alternative solutions.
  • Facilitate communication and interactions between suppliers and design teams.
  • Conduct failure analysis/corrective action with suppliers.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving manufacturing problems.
  • Manage approved vendor list. Manage / create standard processes where needed.
  • Conduct part lifecycle analysis.
  • Flag in-accurate component specification data and correct it.
  • Analyze component failure trends

Minimum Qualifications
  • Areas of experience include; Applications engineer, Distribution or Technical Sales.
  • Applicant should understand the basic operation concepts of electrical components.
  • Applicant should be able to compare physical and operational differences between parts.
  • Obsolescence tracking and avoidance using software-based tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • Applicant should be able to manage part qualification efforts. Help in defining test methods, reporting and tracking.
  • Experience working with external vendors. Communicating specifications and finding alternate solutions.
  • Tracking work progress and reporting on status.
Education

Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
